RI Weekend Weather Wrap, June 25/26, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 6/25/22:
Something like the Bermuda High settles in for a weekend stop in New England, which will mean gradual heating and increasing humidity through Sunday. It is Summer, so it shouldn’t be a surprise. Morning lows around 60 rise to the upper 80’s with a light southerly breeze and some afternoon fair weather cumulus cloud cover, but no threat for any rain.
Sunday 6/26/22:

The high pressure strengthens and drives more heat and humidity our way on stronger southwesterly breezes gusting to 25 mph, which will make the heat slightly more tolerable. Morning lows in the mid 60’s rise to 90 and above here and there.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
