RI Weekend Weather – Aug. 6/7, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 8/6/22:
Hey, guess what? Hot and humid today. We may see some morning mist particularly around the coastal regions, just for a little variety. Other than that, same ol’ same ‘ol, Morning low in the 70’s rising to afternoon highs around 90 with a south-southwesterly breeze and maybe some isolated thunderstorms dotting the northwestern areas.
Sunday 8/7/22:
Not to beat a dead horse here, but we’re going to be hot and humid again today. Morning lows in the upper 70’s, Highs around 90, with some gusty southwesterlies towards 30 mph, the only excitement I can add. We’re not likely to see any decent weather features affecting us until after the weekend.
Some liquid sunshine would be nice.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
