RI Weather Today, Wednesday, May 6, 2020
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A mostly clear night will allow for some decent cooling, early risers to ‘enjoy’ a sunrise temp around 40, give or take. Light and variable winds will shift during late morning and increase a bit and shift to southeasterly, at about the same time that high and mid-level cloud cover begins to thicken and lower ahead of an approaching low pressure system developing over the Delmarva area of the mid-Atlantic states. Afternoon highs will halt once reaching the upper 50’s as we start seeing the first light drops around 4-5pm. Rain becomes a bit steady by early evening yet remains light, and lasts into the wee-night hours before drawing to an end.
