RI Weather Today, Tuesday 5/19/20
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur will be turning east towards the open Atlantic before making it into our area, but will add to what will be quite a windy day. High pressure over eastern Canada will be feeding air towards Arthur and also towards a held-up broad area of low pressure over the midwestern US. We can expect northeasterly winds gusting upwards of 40 mph and surpassing it I bet at times along the coast and nearby Islands. We’ll stay dry under partly cloudy skies and slightly cooler than normal temps, afternoon highs in the low 60’s from a morning low in the upper 40’s.
