RI Weather Today, Thursday 1/2/20:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Another nice day to start the new year with high pressure to our southwest still in control for the time being. A storm developing over the southeastern US will be moving northeast with clouds spilling into our area later in the day with a slight chance of a light shower overnight into Friday. Morning lows in the upper 30’s warming to the mid 40’s by mid-afternoon with the added thin and high cloud cover. Southwesterly breezes will again be a bit gusty, but not terrible, just pulling the first layer or two of protective body heat away from you if you’re outside for any extended length of time.
