RI Weather Today – Thurs, Dec. 24, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Christmas Eve
A strong frontal system begins to approach the western portions of the region later in the day, with lowering clouds and building winds the main culprit through the evening. The system will bring lots of rain beginning later at night with damaging winds toward Christmas morning, gusts easily into the 40’s. We’ll start with morning lows in the upper 30’s and quickly climbing to highs in the mid to upper 50’s. Looking at a start time for rain between 9-11 pm and lasting through the night, heavy at times.
