RI Weather Today, Monday, Nov. 11, 2019

By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist

A close call…The cold weather is done for a day, but some inclement weather looms on the horizon.

High pressure is receding to the open ocean, allowing low pressure developing over the mid-west to make some headway and gather strength that will impact us beginning late Monday night and into Tuesday.

Tomorrow we’ll wake to normal low temperatures in the upper 30’s and partly cloudy skies. High stratus and cirrus cloud cover will overspread the area later in the day with near normal highs in the upper 50’s and the chance for some light rain showers beginning later in the evening, perhaps mixing with a small amount of mixed precipitation overnight. Winds will be light and variable through the day, so we’ll get a thankful break from low wind chills. Joy.
