RI Weather Today, Monday 5/18/20:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Fairly persistent high cloud cover on either side of a stationary front rules the day with perhaps a glimpse or two of the sun peeking through thinning breaks in the overcast from time to time. We’re not expecting any rain with this front other than a stray and lonely drop out of the denser pockets of stratus cloud. We’ll have a normal morning low around 50 and an afternoon high in the mid 60’s, a few degrees cooler than normal. Winds will be out of the northeast through the afternoon after shifting from the west in the morning.
