RI Weather Today, Monday 12/30/19:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A broad wide-ranging storm system covering a great deal of the northeastern US will mean mostly rain for southern New England and mixed precip in the higher elevations of central Mass and northwestern RI. Morning lows around freezing warming to around 40 in the afternoon will mean some slick driving conditions through the morning commute and a generally dreary and miserable day. Wind will be an issue as well, with a strong pressure gradient leading to gusty northeasterly winds upwards of 30 mph, a bit higher in some locations, driving the cool rain into every conceivable crevice.
Happy Monday!
