RI Weather Today, Friday 12/27/19:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Our mid-western frontal system is now our problem, as a cold front will sweep through in the afternoon bringing the slight chance for light afternoon showers. Southwesterly breezes around 10 mph funneling into the system will bring more warmth as well, so it’s not a total loss. Morning lows around the freezing mark held up by thickening cloud cover will climb to around 50 by mid-afternoon, right about the time of the highest rain probability. There’s not a lot of fuel or punch to the system, so odds are low for anything of significance. But, a few sprinkles could foul up the commute time, so watch the roadways!
