Do you know a 16-23 years-old available for a three-week summer session considering a career in aviation?
FREE PILOT TRAINING FOR 16-23 YEAR OLDS – Wanted! Future Pilots and Aviators
The Italian American War Veterans of the United States (ITAMVETS) is seeking young candidates ages 16 to 23 years-old to nominate for a beginner-level flight certificate in a flight training program at Aim High Flight Academy sponsored by the Air Force Recruiting Service.
The academy deadline is December 10, 2021, which requires the Italian American War Veterans to have all applicants reviewed for nomination no later than December 9, 2021.
After receiving the applications, ITAMVETS will be reviewed to be the nominating organization.
The applicant will be required to download information to the Aim High Flight Academy to meet the annual deadline December 10, 2021; all information will be collected and stored by the Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS).
The AIM HIGH Flight Academy sessions take place in the summer and last three weeks each. Twenty‐four students are trained at each session.
The application window is closing on December 10th.
Academy sessions dates:
Session 1 – May 28, 2022, to June 18, 2022
Session 2 – June 25, 2022, to July 16, 2022
Session 3 – July 23, 2022, to August 13, 2022
Twenty-four students will be chosen for each AIM HIGH Flight Academy, which includes twenty high school students and four college cadets from either the Air Force ROTC, Air Force Academy, or the Air Force Guard or Reserve.
Who may apply?
Be at least 16 years old by 28 May 2022
· Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale)
· High school student or college student; the student’s High School Principal must verify their GPA. The principal must confirm the student has not exhibited any detrimental conduct during the previous school year.
· Not currently hold a private pilot’s certificate.
· Applicants must receive a nomination; the Italian American War Veterans of the United States is a partner organization , which must be listed on the last page of this application or any individual who can speak to the applicant’s character.

The ITAMVETS is available to assist any potential applicants complete the package. Monday, December 13, 2021, Wreaths Across America State House Ceremony , 12 noon in the State Room of the State House, Providence RI followed by the wreath laying in the Garden of Heroes. The Wreaths Across America State House ceremonies takes place in all 50 states and Washington DC and will continue a week-long celebration of America’s veterans and their service to our Country with a particular focus on family during the holidays.
