RI Police Chiefs Assoc. recognizes Gabrielle Abbate for her work in traffic safety
At the July meeting of the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association (RIPCA), Kevin Lynch, Chief of Police for Bristol and President of RIPCA, recognized Gabrielle Abbate, Chief of Traffic Safety for the Office of Highway Safety for her outstanding contributions to traffic safety in Rhode Island.
“Gaby has been a steadfast and enthusiastic advocate for safer roads throughout her entire career,” said Chief Lynch. “She is a valued partner to law enforcement and her expertise in traffic safety is unequaled. She is passionate and dedicated and as chiefs, we count on her to help us improve safety in our communities.”
Before joining the Office of Highway Safety in 2014, Abbate worked for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Rhode Island for 23 years and as Executive Director for 19 years.
