Rhode Island Weather for July 16, 2026
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Rhode Island, expect another hot day with lingering wildfire smoke early that should gradually improve.
Morning starts warm and hazy with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Wildfire smoke will still be noticeable (moderate air quality), creating hazy skies, but it is expected to thin out as the day progresses.
Afternoon heats up significantly with highs near 90°F and a heat index in the mid-to-upper 90s. Smoke should be lighter by this point, allowing more filtered sunshine. Mostly sunny overall.
Evening remains warm (low-to-mid 70s) with improving air quality as the smoke continues to dissipate. Skies trend clearer.
Overall grade: B.
A hot summer day with decent sun once the morning smoke lifts. Still muggy, but better air quality than yesterday makes it more tolerable for outdoor time. Stay hydrated!
