Rhode Island Weather for January 24, 2026
Morning:
Saturday morning is extremely cold, with temperatures around 8°F. Skies are mostly cloudy, and conditions are dry. The cold is sharp and biting, but roads and ground are bare, not snow-covered.
Afternoon:
Temperatures struggle to warm, reaching only the mid-teens at best. Skies remain mostly cloudy, and the air stays firmly Arctic. Despite increasing clouds, no precipitation is expected during the daytime.
Evening:
Clouds continue to thicken into the evening as attention turns to the approaching winter storm. While snow does not begin during the early evening, conditions are setting up for snow to develop later overnight as the storm moves closer. Temperatures remain well below freezing.
Overall Letter Grade: D
Even without snow on the ground, dangerous cold, limited warming, and the looming arrival of a major winter storm make this a harsh, high-impact winter day. Saturday is dry but brutally cold, serving as the final calm window before snow arrives later tonight and into Sunday.
