Rhode Island Weather for January 1, 2026 – a “C+” Day
Morning greets us with a light, fluffy snow – with temps 22–26°F. Conditions will be mostly cloudy and cold all day. A few flurries continue into the morning. Wind chill in teens.
Afternoon temps don’t get much higher, 28–32°F (near freezing). Clouds continue with some brighter skies posssible. But no meaningful warm-up.
Evening stays much the same – a quiet winter night. Cold settles after sunset.
Cold New Year’s Day – but seasonable, wintry feel without a major storm, with the ambiance of a light covering of snow.
It’s an “C+” Day!
