Rhode Island Weather for February 9, 2026
Morning: Very cold start, likely in the low to mid teens °F or slightly lower (feels even colder with any wind). Sunny to mostly clear skies, dry. Bundle up heavily—wind chills could make it feel sub-zero early.
Afternoon: Peaks around the high of ~27–30°F (some models show +21°F daytime average, others higher). Sunny or partly sunny, still brisk but the sun helps it feel a bit less harsh. Light winds.
Evening: Cooling quickly after sunset. Drops toward lows in the single digits °F. Clear skies, dry, and increasingly cold—expect wind chills to drop further.
Overall grade: B-
This is a solid winter day for RI—no precipitation, sunny skies make it brighter and more tolerable than stormy or overcast days, but the extreme cold (well below average February norms of ~37–42°F highs) keeps it uncomfortable for outdoor activities without proper layering.Â
