Rhode Island Weather for September 1, 2026 (Meteorological Fall)
September 1 looks like a classic late-summer hangover as meteorological fall officially begins.
Morning will start muggy and overcast with temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s and a decent chance of passing showers, so expect a gray, sticky start rather than crisp autumn air.
Afternoon should warm into the mid-80s under partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies, though humidity stays high and isolated showers or thunderstorms remain possible—pack an umbrella if you’re heading out.
Evening turns mostly cloudy again with another round of shower or thunderstorm chances as temps ease back into the low 70s.
