Rhode Island Energy Foundation Announces New Round of Community Grants Supporting 15 Nonprofits

The Rhode Island Energy Foundation (RIE Foundation) is pleased to announce that it is awarding $250,000 in funding to support 15 nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives and well-being of individuals across the Ocean State through its Empowering Communities program.

The RIE Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization funded by contributions from PPL Corporation, RIE’s parent company. Since 2022, the foundation has awarded more than $2.4 million in grants to organizations across Rhode Island.

“Our role in Rhode Island goes beyond providing energy, and we’re grateful for the organizations working every day to support our communities,” said Greg Cornett, President of RIE and officer of the RIE Foundation. “Through these grants, we’re proud to support local partners who are helping meet critical needs and strengthen communities across the state.”

• Community Libraries of Providence
• East Bay Food Pantry
• Project Weber/RENEW
• Sojourner House
• Westerly Area Rest Meals (WARM), Inc.
• Boys & Girls Club of East Providence
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County, Inc.
• Connecting for Children and Families, Inc.
• Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District
• Providence Promise
• Special Olympics Rhode Island, Inc.
