Business Beat: Rhode Island Energy appoints Joe Curley as Vice President of Electric Operations

Rhode Island Energy (RIE) has appointed Joe Curley as Vice President of Electric Operations, where he will lead the company’s Electric Distribution organization and help ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electric service to customers across Rhode Island.

Curley brings extensive utility operations experience, most recently serving as Director of Gas Field Operations for RIE. Throughout his 18-year career with the energy company, he has held leadership roles spanning gas and electric field operations, resource and portfolio planning, process and systems, and customer service.

“Joe’s broad operational experience, deep knowledge of our business, and proven leadership make him exceptionally well-suited to lead our Electric Operations organization,” said Michele Leone, Chief Operations Officer at RIE. “Throughout his career, Joe has consistently demonstrated a commitment to safety and operational excellence with a “customer first” mindset. He brings a collaborative leadership style and a strong understanding of both our field operations and our customers’ needs. Curley began his career with RIE in 2008 and has held positions across multiple operational and customer-facing functions. His diverse background has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the company’s electric and gas operations.
