Red Stripe named to have Best Fries in Rhode Island, “Hands-Down” says Tasting Table
“We’re honored to be named “Best Fries in Rhode Island” by Tasting Table,” says the excited announcement at Red Stripe, an East Side Providence restaurant.
Tasting Table has featured Red Stripe as having the best fries in Rhode Island in their roundup, “The Hands-Down Best French Fries in Every US State.” While they call them fries, our guests know them as Frites: crispy, golden, perfectly seasoned, and one of the most loved staples on our menu. Being recognized for something we take so much pride in is truly special.
Whether you enjoy them classic, dipped in their signature aioli, or truffle-tossed alongside a favorite entrée, this recognition confirms what many of us already know: their frites are something special.
“Apparently, Red Stripe in Providence has some of the best truffle fries around, and who are we to argue with the opinion of locals? This is the spot to go if you’re craving a solid burger and fries, and even better, they’re served with an aioli that’s reportedly to die for. Even better, the fries are served in massive portions, perfect for big appetites or those who need a little snack to save for later,” said the Tasting Table announcement.

About Red Stripe:
Red Stripe is an “American brasserie” which is a modern take on the traditional European-style French café. In France, the word “brasserie” (according to Wikipedia) refers to a type of restaurant with a relaxed setting that serves single dishes and other meals with professional service, printed menus and traditionally white linen. In true brasserie style, the eateries are a convivial spot to enjoy quality lunch, dinner and brunch entrees, cocktails or casual food at affordable prices.
Established in 2005, Red Stripe Providence is located in fashionable Wayland Square and just minutes from the campuses of Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design. It features a newly expanded 1,650 sq. ft. private dining room, bar and 70+ seat function space to accommodate a total of 170 diners. Designed by award-winning Interior Designer Judd Brown, the restaurant sports a red outdoor awning, dark wood walls, high tin ceiling and striking black-and-white floor pattern that is Red Stripe’s signature brand.
