Pop Up on Mom’s Day – Med Tech Ambulance Testing in Pawtucket/Central Falls
Pop up in Pawtucket on Mom’s Day – Med Tech Ambulance Testing
Call BEAT COVID-19 Hot Line 855-843-7620 to Schedule Test
Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien and Central Falls Mayor James A. Diossa have announced a collaboration with Med Tech Ambulance Service, who will help the Cities bring coronavirus testing to those in the community without the ability to drive or walk to an established testing site. Additionally, Med Tech will provide pop up tests throughout the area as needed, and the first such opportunities will be in two of Pawtucket’s most densely populated neighborhoods on Sunday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents experiencing symptoms must call 855-843-7620.
The newly announced collaboration will be critical to providing testing to Pawtucket and Central Falls residents who do not have access to transportation. Med Tech’s established community presence as well as their medical expertise made them a natural fit for the Beat COVID-19 initiative.
“Med Tech is bringing another dimension to testing for our community by assisting individuals who do not have access to transportation,” said Mayor Grebien. “Roughly 17% and 23% of households in Pawtucket and Central Falls respectively do not have a single vehicle to use for travel. Med Tech is a committed, Pawtucket-based business, and I thank Gary and Adam Reis and their team for bringing the full strength of their operation to our ongoing, community-based efforts to combat the coronavirus.”
“We thank Med Tech for their essential support of the BEAT COVID-19 initiative,” said Mayor Diossa. “The BEAT COVID-19 initiative continues to break down barriers to testing for all residents to have access to testing and to begin isolation; from language barriers, to having no insurance, to having no primary care doctor, and now to having no car.”
The pop up tests on Sunday are for Pawtucket and Central Falls residents who do not have a primary care doctor.
