Outdoor ‘Igloos by the Sea’ Dining Experience Has Returned to Coast Guard House
Embracing the cold weather ahead, The Coast Guard House located along Rhode Island’s scenic waterfront, is re-introducing its popular Igloos by the Sea outdoor dining experience this winter.
Set against the backdrop of the ocean, The Coast Guard House’s Igloos by the Sea experience gives diners an opportunity to enjoy private, cozy, outdoor meals during the winter months.
Reservations for the 2025-2026 Igloos by the Sea season officially opened on Monday, Oct. 20.

“There’s nothing quite like dining by the water at the Coast Guard House, and our outdoor igloos make that experience accessible even during New England’s coldest winter months,†said Bob Leonard, manager & co-owner, The Coast Guard House. “We’re excited to welcome Rhode Islanders and tourists alike to enjoy our extensive wine list and locally sourced seafood and coastal-inspired menu in cozy, outdoor comfort all winter long.â€
Each of The Coast Guard House’s six custom-themed igloos were designed and decorated by Exquisite Events Light & Décor, a locally owned and operated business based in Exeter. All six igloos include a fireplace, heater and Bluetooth speaker, allowing guests to create warm, inviting atmospheres tailored to their parties’ preferences.
Beginning this Thursday, the igloos will be open seven days a week for lunch, twilight and dinner, offering The Coast Guard House’s full menu. Igloos are available by reservation only and entail a rental fee of $100 for three hours.
Reservations can be made online via OpenTableÂ
