National Visit the Zoo Day – for free…at Roger Williams Park Zoo
Celebrate National Visit the Zoo Day, with free admission for all at the Roger Williams Park Zoo, on Friday, December 27 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Share the holiday spirit with the community by bringing non-perishable food items to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank between 10 am – 1 pm. Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses is generously donating a truck and staff to help collect all food items and deliver everything to the RI Food Bank. Look for the Cardi’s truck in the Zoo’s main parking lot.
For a complete list of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s most needed items please go to: http://rifoodbank.org/get-involved/donate-food/#needed.
About Roger Williams Park Zoo
Located amid 40 acres of beautiful woodlands, the Roger Williams Park Zoo provides visitors the opportunity to see animals from all over the globe – some more than a million years old. Naturalistic surroundings are home to more than 160 species of animals including a Komodo dragon, as well as zebras, red pandas, African elephants, Masai giraffes, snow leopards, bears, anteaters, flamingoes, sloths, and more! Kids from two to 102 have the opportunity to feed giraffes, as well as an array of farmyard animals. For something slightly out of the ordinary, visit our new Explore and Soar area offering an exhilarating zip ride and a train excursion through the woodlands.
Roger Williams Park Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), American Humane certified, and is home to many endangered species. As a result, the Zoo participates in cooperative conservation and breeding programs to help ensure the future survival of many endangered species.
Roger Williams Park Zoo is supported and managed by the Rhode Island Zoological Society (a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization), and is owned by the City of Providence.
