Middletown Succeeds in Securing Additional Fire Protection
The RI State Association of Fire Fighters is congratulating the Town of Middletown and Middletown Fire Fighters, Local 1933, the International Assoc. of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO on the settlement of a multi-year collecting bargaining agreement.
The agreement increases the staffing of the fire department and immediately allows the department to put in service an additional piece of safety equipment – either a rescue vehicle or fire suppression apparatus. There is also provision for another safety vehicle – for a total of four emergency vehicles. That doubles the fire protection and EMS capability of the Fire Department.
Below is the letter sent out by the IAFF.
