In the Arena – George Nee, President, RI AFL-CIO
Each week Joe Paolino, Jr. interviews people of interest on his program, “In The Arena”. The show airs at 7am on Sundays on ABC6.
This week his guest is George Nee, President of the Rhode Island AFL-CIO. They talk about a career in labor unions and the labor movement, including boycotts years ago. Interesting stories of labor and union organizing. Why have workers not come back to their jobs? Which areas are the hardest hit? The jobs that people have left have largely been involving people having to get out and be with others to be successful – such as entertainment, restaurants, etc. What will it take to get workers back?

How infrastructure should be spent – comment about the Rhode Island Foundation in terms of not involving the labor movement in hospitals and RI’s infrastructure plan.
