Hunt Slonem to open exhibit TODAY at Jessica Hagen gallery in Newport

Jessica Hagen is pleased to welcome back the well known American artist Hunt Slonem for his fourth solo exhibition at her gallery in Newport, Rhode Island. Hunt Slonem’s Solo Exhibition opens on June 24, 2023, and will feature the artist’s colorful, expressionist paintings of bunnies, birds and butterflies, as well as a beautiful selection of flower paintings in honor of The Newport Flower Show.

The Newport Flower Show is at The Marble House and runs through Sunday.

Hunt Slonem’s work is in over 250 museum collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art, as well as many illustrious private collections. Hunt Slonem has received extensive media attention: CBS Sunday Morning, The New York Times, ArtNews and Architectural Digest have all profiled the artist not only for his artwork, but also for his collection of historic homes that he has restored, decorated and filled with works of art. Gallerist Jessica Hagen states, “I’m so pleased to be hosting our fourth solo exhibition of Hunt Slonem’s work. It is the year of the rabbit in Chinese astrology, which is what first inspired Hunt’s iconic bunny paintings, making this show especially auspicious!”

Located in the historic Point section of Newport, Jessica Hagen Fine Art + Design was founded in 2005 and features contemporary American art including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textiles, furniture, and jewelry. The gallery features original works of art created by living American artists from throughout the northeast and beyond. Styles range from realism to abstractionism, with a focus on quality, originality, and beauty. The gallery’s hours are Wednesday through Saturday 11:00- 5:00 and Sunday 12:00- 5:00 as well as by appointment.
