HopeHealth Hosts Annual Children’s Bereavement Camp

50 R.I. and Mass. youths to receive support at in-person Camp BraveHeart

HopeHealth will hold both virtual and in-person programs for its 15th annual summer grief support camp offering comfort, healing and fun for kids and teenagers adjusting to the loss of a loved one.

Camp BraveHeart will be offered via Zoom Monday, July 26, and Tuesday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with traditional and therapeutic activities to support youngsters experiencing grief. The schedule of activities includes art therapy, drum circles, interactive animal programs, and a remembrance ceremony. Virtual group sessions will be gated and monitored to ensure the safety and privacy of participants.

The in-person Camp BraveHeart will take place at the Hockamock Area YMCA in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on Thursday, Aug. 12, and Friday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To abide by social distancing guidelines, the number of campers is limited to 50. Face coverings will be required for all campers, volunteers and staff.

Both the virtual and in-person versions of Camp BraveHeart are for campers between the ages 4 and 17 years old. The camp is free and is fully supported by the generosity of HopeHealth philanthropic donors.
