Gimme’ Shelter: Serena Joy at the Providence Animal Control Center
Are you dressed in your finest Gilead green like our Serena Joy? We found Serena beyond the borders of her home and took her into PAC’s custody for her protection. Serena told us that if we give any trouble, she will give trouble back… Plot twist, she was no trouble at all!
Serena is a young, beautiful and outgoing kitty who found herself in a bit of trouble when she began scratching the family… strange Serena behavior, right? Unfortunately for Serena, she was not spayed and already had a litter of (probably) beautiful kittens, but we have no idea where they are. Serena’s days of being a “kitten having kittens” is over! Praise be!
Since all we offered Serena was treason and coconuts… she would like to find a new district to live in, one with a family and maybe other cats like her, so long as there is a Martha to tend to her needs?

If you can see me, I am still available! We prefer everything regarding adoption be done via email, this way we can answer any time or day! We do need an application submitted before scheduling a visit. If you don’t have access to email, no worries, please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email [email protected] or [email protected]

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.
As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
