Gimme’ Shelter: Montana at the RISPCA. We call her “Monnie” – Cheryl Tudino
by Cheryl Tudino, RISPCA volunteer, contributing writer

Cheryl Tudino, RISPCA
Hi there, I’m Cheryl, a volunteer at the RISPCA in Warwick-dog walker, treat dispenser, and part-time hype woman for our adoptable pups.
Let me introduce you to one of my most favorite girls, Montana, or affectionately known by staff and volunteers as ‘Monnie’.
Meet Montana-brains, beauty, and zoomies all in one adorable compact package. This smart gal learns new cues quickly and will do anything to please you so she can climb into your lap and command love. Her favorite hobbies include running like she is late for something, chasing toys or treats with Olympic level enthusiasm, and perfecting her “keep away game. A securely fenced yard would be her dream come true so she can safely show off her speed skills.
When Monnie Montana isn’t on the move, she is all about the snuggles and love. Personal space? Never heard of it. She will climb into your lap, your arms in search of love. She does love to put a paw on your shoulder and gaze into your eyes, looking for you to tell her that everything will indeed be alright.
Monnie would thrive in a home with teens and up, a comfy couch she can call her own, and as an only ‘dog child’ so she can soak up all the attention she deserves.
Every day, Monnie makes big strides in her training, and we are all so proud of her. She comes with a free Take My Lead training grant through Handsome Dan’s Rescue. She has been enjoying frequent sleepovers at a fabulous foster home, learning how to live the good life, and now she is ready for a loving home to call her own.
If you have love in your heart to give a new best friend and room on your couch, Monnie is waiting for you. Apply today at https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs to adopt Montana AKA Monnie, your couch already approves.
