COVID-19 in RI Schools: 127% increase in students; 102% increase in staff
With RI schools primarily closed for several weeks, on Dec. 23rd, the RI Dept. of Health released its newest numbers for staff and student cases, statewide, since its last update which was Nov. 25th. In this roughly month’s time:
Summary through 12/23:
721+ locations (300+ additional locations since 11/25)
4,983 student cumulative cases since Sept. (Increase of 2,790 since 11/25)
1,513 staff cumulative cases since Sept. (Increase of 765 since 11/25)
Of the schools that have been open anytime in the last 7 days, there have been 578 more positive students and 153 more staff members.
