Chef Walter Potenza – “New Year’s Eve Traditions in Italy”

With Christmas moving into the memory bank, New Year’s Eve is upon us. Will we go out for a full-on celebration, or an early dinner out, and back home for midnight? Or, cooking at home with a quiet celebration with immediate family or family and friends.
Identifying as approximately 20% Italian, Rhode Island is ranked as one of the four most densely Italian populated states in the US. We thought we’d look at some of the traditions and symbols of the New Year in Italy. And for that we turned to Chef Walter Potenza.
Did you know lentils and beans given in a money purse are for wishes of wealth in the new year? We learned a lot from Chef Walter…
