Car Seat Trade-In Event at Target in its 10th Year

Now in its 10th year, this guest-favorite program has helped families recycle millions of outdated or outgrown car seats while getting valuable discounts toward new, updated baby gear. During the event, guests can bring any car seat into participating stores to receive a 20% Target Circle bonus to use on new gear.

Over the past decade, the trade-in event has kept 58 million pounds of materials out of landfills, instead diverting the recycled material into more than 690,000 Brightroom and Room Essentials products.

And – the NHTSA estimates that correctly used child restraints reduce fatalities by 71% for infants younger than 1 year old and by 54% for children 1 to 4 years old in passenger cars. Changes and upgrades are always being done as research gets better, so using a car seat for too many years may not be the best strategy for children’s safety,

This year’s 10th anniversary event will include in-store giveaways and sampling new baby products in select stores in Rhode Island . Guests will also be able to experience Target’s new Baby Boutique and Baby Concierge services, which launched in March, offering both in-person and virtual support tailored to Rhode Island parents.
