Business Beat: Haven. Work Life Balance. Childcare, Co-working, Fitness under one roof
As the way we work continues to evolve, so does what working parents most need, which is flexibility, community, and a little sanity in their day as work life balance has taken on a new and more important priority.
One mom is tackling that challenge head-on.

Haven, located in Middletown, Rhode Island, is the first local space to combine licensed childcare, co-working, and fitness that is all under one roof. Founded by Britt Riley, a working mom who saw firsthand the struggles of balancing remote work and parenting, Haven is redefining what “work from home†can look like.
In today’s changing hybrid and remote work landscape, Haven offers a place where parents can take calls, hit deadlines, and even squeeze in a workout all while their children are just steps away in a safe, enriching environment.
What started as one mom’s attempt to create balance for her own family has grown into a vibrant community hub for local parents. Haven is helping Rhode Island families find connection and calm in the chaos of modern work and childcare.
Founder, Britt Riley, a mother of two, knew deep down the U.S. childcare system was broken. So, she set out to reshape the industry by creating a positively memorable ‘care’ experience for today’s modern-day families. With the price of childcare as high as it is today, our goal is not to try to beat the prices already out there, which are set largely by wage requirements of talented caregivers. Instead, our goal is to provide an even more valuable experience for entire families, beyond providing childcare.
The Rhode Island location is part of the Haven franchise, offering opportunities like this, seen as a meaningful part of the solution to the childcare crisis while providing the community access to a “wonderful quality of life”. Opportunities to run a franchise location are available – Haven Franchising.
