Business Beat: Central RI Chamber announces Jennifer Wheelehon as VP
The Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the addition of Jennifer Wheelehon as Vice President. Jennifer brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership, relationship building, and promotional expertise to the Chamber, making her an invaluable asset to the organization and its members.
Jennifer is no stranger to the Chamber, having worked with the organization since 2018 before a brief absence earlier this year. In her previous role as Director of Membership & Marketing, she played a key role in fostering connections between local businesses, creating opportunities for growth, and engaging members to support their success. Her return to the Chamber marks a renewed commitment to driving innovation and strengthening the business community.
“Jennifer’s energy, experience, and dedication to community improvement are unmatched,” said Lauren Slocum, President of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce. “Her ability to build meaningful relationships and her extensive background in event planning, marketing, and customer service will significantly enhance the value we provide to our members.”
Throughout her career, Jennifer has excelled at connecting individuals and businesses with organizations to achieve philanthropic, volunteer, marketing, and community engagement goals. She also currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Thrive Behavioral Health and as a Board Member for Elves for Elders, underscoring her passion for improving the communities where she works and lives.
“I’m thrilled to rejoin the Chamber in this exciting new capacity,” said Wheelehon. “I look forward to helping our members grow their businesses, build lasting connections, and contribute to thriving communities throughout Rhode Island.”
Jennifer resides in Coventry with her husband, Don. She is the proud mom and stepmom to their four boys, enjoys local and regional theatre and loves to travel.
