Bishop Hendricken to host Largest Private College Fair in RI
Bishop Hendricken High School will host 112 colleges and universities from across the United States on campus this Friday, September 17, 2021 as part of the largest private college fair in Rhode Island.
The fair, which takes place from 8:30am-10:30am in both Pepin and McNally Gymnasiums, is organized annually through the School Counseling Office at Bishop Hendricken. After being cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, the fair returns for its 55th year.
“The investment and sacrifice parents make to send their sons to Bishop Hendricken is great,” said Mark DeCiccio ’03, Principal. “Our college fair is proof that investment is worth it. Hendricken men are a different caliber of student to colleges, and that’s why they want to be on campus each year to meet them.”
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with admissions representatives as part of the fair. The Class of 2022 will also attend a presentation by Pam Heroux, Associate Dean of Admissions at Salve Regina University, on the impact of COVID on the application cycle, as well as essay-writing tips. Schools represented are as close as Providence and as far as California. The full list of all attending schools is below.
“We are thrilled to welcome over 100 colleges to campus to meet exclusively with our students,” said Natalie Kessimian, Assistant Principal who oversees the School Counseling Office. “Our school counselors have been working tirelessly, not only to prepare this wonderful event, but also to develop meaningful relationships with the schools in attendance and put our students ahead of others.”
College representatives will also begin small group visits — both on campus and virtually — with Hendricken seniors beginning next week. For more information on the School Counseling Office, or Bishop Hendricken’s approach to college counseling and placement, click here.
