by Ann Clanton, contributing writer
North Providence residents and businesses couldn’t be happier that GOOD BURGER is filming in North Providence. Pastry chef Syroya Eugene, Syroya’s Bakery is, too!
The Center for Women and Enterprise (CWE) Business of the Year, Syroya’s Bakery is directly across the street from the GOOD BURGER filming production site.
Known for her mile high specialty cakes, personalized cupcakes and apple cobbler in a cup. Syroya’s Bakery is looking forward to feeding the GOOD BURGER cast and crew some tasty treats.
Stars of the original “Good Burger” movie, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will be reprising their roles of Dexter and Ed. The actors confirmed in March on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon that a sequel was in the works.
“Good Burger” original stars, actors Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will be reprising their roles of Dexter and Ed.
“Good Burger 2″ does not yet have a release date, but it is planned to be released on Paramount.
The Instigators, an Apple Original film starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, “follows two thieves who go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a robbery goes awry,” Deadline reported.
“It’s super exciting. I mean everybody in Boston, it hits home when those actors come back,” said Kaileen Bernasconi, Director of Operations at Monica’s Enterprises. “Everyone’s excited, all of our staff. The ones who live locally can’t wait to come out to see it. It’s nice to have people like that in the neighborhood and bring attention to our area.”
Creative confectionery, decadent desserts and, of course, signature cupcakes with faces of historic figures adorning the top have arrived at Pastry Chef Syroya Eugene’s retail store.
In November 2022, Syroya’s Bakery made history as the first minority owned bakery in North Providence. Syroya’s Bakery sits among a plaza of North Providence eateries and retail shops. What began as an idea in 2015, in 2017 Syroya’s Bakery officially became a business. Surviving on bakery orders from families and friends, the Syroya’s Bakery brand flourished following the Pastry Chef’s completion of the Hope & Main signature incubation program for independent food-related companies. Hope & Main provides food businesses a low-risk opportunity to test, scale and develop without the cost and liability in equipping, managing and maintaining their own commercial facility.
Among the bakery’s customers include Brown University, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, the United States Naval Base and the Rhode Island Black Storytellers. Syroya’s Bakery created a one of a kind cake with pictures of the founders ensconced across the frosted top of the cake.
The pale pink and baby blue awning bearing “Syroya’s Bakery” welcomes customers to a pastry case of her decorated cupcakes, traditional buttery pound cake and sweet potato and apple pies from Tuesday through Saturday, opening at 9:30am.
