ART! HopArts Studio Trail
Photo: Swan Lake Revisited, Rick Devin
HopArts is “a diverse group of southern Rhode Island artists and artisans” – and their 15th Annual Studio Trail will be held this weekend, Oct. 16th and 17th.
Over 25 artists will open their studios, greet eager art aficionados, talk about their art, and sell their art. A great time to begin holiday giving – and holiday decorating for your own home or collection.
HopArts is a grassroots organization who help each other grow and showcase their artistic talents to the local community and beyond.
Many of the names of HopArts artists will be well known to Rhode Islanders – but there are always new finds. Art includes paintings, crafts, jewelry, woodwork, more.
Celebrating the 15th year of the annual HopArts Studio Trail 25, local artists, located in old New England farmhouses, barns, mills or local venues, will be exhibiting their body of work and demonstrating their creative techniques. A gold banner will fly at each site with a wooden number that matches the map in the HopArts 2021 brochure. Pick one up at any location with a banner. This event is free and presents an opportunity to purchase an original piece of art directly from the artist.
Here is Rick Devin, who makes the intricate characters – see photo above. Rick is a mixed media artist who has been creating for over forty years. Rick’s work has been exhibited across the country and has won numerous awards. His work is mainly one-of-a-kind and commission work. His art is whimsical with attention to detail and has very special meaning to his clients.
A map of all the studios is available at their website:
