HISTORY:

On October 25, 2000 25 artists led by Pat Zacks met at Slater Mill to establish goals, bylaws, membership dues, a mission statement, a logo, and a web site and formed Pawtucket Arts Collaborative.

The Pawtucket Arts Collaborative has been supporting artists of Pawtucket and beyond since then. Working with the community at large for over 20 years to offer opportunities to local students to tour artists’ studios and showcase their work. Beginning with just 25 artists with a vision focused on providing a space for exhibitions, meet-ups, and classes. The Pawtucket Arts Collaborative space has been offering members opportunities to exhibit in juried shows, group shows, or coordinate/curate their own exhibition in the gallery. Additionally the gallery is a space for weekly opportunities for portrait and life drawing sessions, community collage meet-ups, as well as critique groups and artist talks and panels.

MISSION:

“Dedicated to supporting, promoting and developing the highest level of the arts for the community and its artists by creating awareness, education and involvement with our members and the public-at-large.â€
