On view from April 10 through June 13, 2026, NEXT is a group exhibition of the next generation of creative voices from Jamestown, on display in the Main Gallery at the Jamestown Art Center.
The exhibition highlights artists with roots in Jamestown, RI—those who grew up here or spent a meaningful part of their childhood on the island. It pays homage to Jamestown’s vibrant artistic history while shining a light on a new generation of creative voices.
April 10, 5:30—7:30 PM: Opening Reception – for NEXT and In the Zeitgeist. Free, open to all. Meet the artists!

Artists between the ages of 19 and 39 are featured in the exhibition, which showcases the individuality of each artist while highlighting the unique ways Jamestown has shaped and inspired their creative practice.
“We are thrilled to present NEXT, an exhibition that feels like a homecoming for many of these talented young artists,” said Christine Cocca, Executive Director at the Jamestown Art Center. “It’s a powerful testament to how place can inform artistic vision. The exhibition demonstrates how the next generation is advancing the artistic spirit of Jamestown.”
