All School Fair recognizes National School Choice Week, this Sunday
by Ed Bastia
Sunday, January 26, 2025 could mean something very special to you depending on your personal interests. Some minor research tells us that January 26 is the day on which we celebrate National Peanut Brittle Day, Green Juice Day and Spouses Day. If you are a sports enthusiast, January 26 will provide a football challenge in Chicago, Illinois and a skating competition in Wichita, Kansas.
Sunday, January 26th is also the first day of National School Choice Week, a national observance that brings focus to the fact that citizens across this nation want greater access to all forms of quality educational options for their families regardless of family income or other demographics. Celebrations will occur across the nation. Here in Rhode Island, our group of volunteers will partner with National School Choice Week once again to host an annual All School Fair. The purpose of our fair is twofold; to showcase the many and varied types of educational options that currently exist in our State, and to inform our citizens that school choice is within their grasp. To make school choice a reality, people simply need to become proactively involved.
This year’s fair will be hosted Sunday from 11AM to 2PM at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston. Admission and parking are free. There will be entertainment, raffle prizes, snacks and kid-friendly activities throughout the event. Come, visit with the more than 50 schools and educational providing representatives who will be exhibiting at the fair. Take time to visit with schools of your choice and learn how you can become more proactive in the school choice movement in our State. To attend, simply visit RIschoolfair.com and register your family as attending.
Television and radio advertisements are inviting families and students to attend the fair. Won’t you join us? Let’s make January 26, 2025 the date when greater access to all forms of quality education becomes a priority for you, your family and all students in Rhode Island. For additional information, visit edchoiceri.org.
Thank you. We hope to see you at the fair on January 26.
