ART! The Artists Loop offering Watercolor Workshop with Daria Derevianko. Ongoing Display.

Introduction to Painting Watercolor workshop with Daria Derevianko will take place on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 4-5:30 PM at the Wanskuck Library, 223 Veazie Street in Providence.

Daria (Dasha) Derevianko is an illustrator and fine artist who primarily works in oil and watercolor. She is currently pursuing a BFA at Rhode Island School of Design. Her work is described as luminous, thoughtful, and quietly intense. As she explores the merging of memory and image, themes of comfort, nostalgia, solitude and human connection materialize. Inspired by art nouveau, Daria’s elegant use of line, delicate details and curving forms sweeps the viewer in, prodding them to look a little closer.
This workshop will guide you on how to handle watercolor to create fluid, beautiful and accurate paintings. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how to describe form, lighting, and material. They will learn the basics of value, color and observational drawing and painting. This workshop is perfect for beginners looking to learn painting in an approachable way, or for intermediate artists looking to refine their skills.
