Gimme’ Shelter: Meet Basil! at the RI SPCA – Cheryl Tudino

Hi there, I’m Cheryl, a volunteer at the RISPCA in Warwick, full-time treat dealer, poop scoop enthusiast, and unpaid publicist for dogs who deserve way more followers than influencers.

This week I would like to introduce you to Basil. 🌿

She is freshly picked and ready for adoption so she can spice up your life. This beautiful girl has a gorgeous, silky chocolate coat. Basil has two little caramel colored eyebrow dots and a completely white derriere. You must see her in person to admire her masterpiece markings.

If you have ever cooked with basil, you know one little sprig can make everything better. Meet the RISPCA’s four-legged version. Basil is a 3-year-old bundle of happiness and excitement who believes every day is better with a game of fetch, a backyard zoomie session, a long walk, or a cozy cuddle on the couch with her BFF. She is the kind of dog who wakes up excited for the day and is ready to make you smile. Basil would enjoy nothing more than to end the day in a comfy bed, preferably in your bed.

Like any good recipe, Basil just needs a little seasoning. She is still polishing up her leash manners, but she is smart, eager to please, and promises the effort will be well worth it.

Basil has met other dogs and loves making new furry friends. Because she is an enthusiastic girl, she would do best with older children who can keep up with her fun-loving energy. She has not met any feline friends yet, so slow introductions will be the perfect ingredient for success.
