RI Weather Today – July 14, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Another wave of upper low pressure swings through during the day enhancing the chance for some scattered showers and possible thunderstorms mixed in from midday through the afternoon. A better chance of seeing some lightning through the middle of the state given the southward direction of the disturbance, negating some of the seabreeze influence. Morning lows will start in the low 70’s and rise to around 80 amidst the growing cumulus punching into the blue sky. Light northerly breezes rule until any storms kick up some higher variable winds.
