Chief Sidney Wordell (ret.) Inducted in Rhode Island Criminal Justice Hall of Fame

The Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association announced that Executive Director, Chief Sidney Wordell (ret.) was recently inducted into the Rhode Island Criminal Justice Hall of Fame with the Class of 2025.

Chief Wordell began his career in Little Compton in 1987, rose through the ranks and served as Chief of the Little Compton Police Department from 2005 until his retirement in 2014. He was named Executive Director of the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association in 2016 and has been instrumental in the Assocaition’s efforts enhance traffic safety and officer wellness.

“Sid has helped professionalize and unify law enforcement in Rhode Island. He is a respected leader, a trusted colleague, and a tireless advocate for the men and women who serve,” said Thomas F. Oates, III, Immediate Past President of the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association and Chief of Police for Woonsocket.
