Kirk’s widow, Erika, spoke publicly from Turning Point less than 48 hours after her husband’s death:

Kirk announced that Turning Point USA will continue – college tours will go on. She encouraged college campuses and states should start their own chapters of Turning Point.  Since the assassination 32,000 (updated) requests have come in to establish new chapters around the US.

Kirk’s social media followings have grown from 1.2M to 29Million.

On Turning Point’s website this was noted:

Text-only image with a powerful message about a widow's grief and resilience.

“Charlie Kirk poured his life into building a movement rooted in faith, freedom, and love of country. He believed America’s future depended on raising up a generation who would NEVER SURRENDER.

That vision is alive and stronger than ever. Prayers are rising, support is pouring in, millions of students are rallying, volunteers are flooding in, and vigils are filling churches and schools across the nation. The fire Charlie lit is burning brighter than ever.

Now the responsibility is ours. We will honor his legacy by pressing fforward-not slowing down, not surrendering. This is not a time to preserve what was built. This is the time to fight harder, grow faster, and unleash the true power of the grassroots machine Charlie created.

We will make Charlie proud. We will defend America’s future. And we will not stop until freedom prevails.”

Firings and job actions nationwide from vitriolic, even threatening social media posts:

As quickly as messages of sadness and resolute promises to have a better political environment and country worked their way around social media – messages of hatred and evil were posted. Often these messages were posted with open videos, names, even references to where people worked.

Those messages were tagged with people’s place of work – in many cases they were schools – history and social studies teachers – union members – and social workers, healthcare workers, business people, etc.  Anyone perusing social media, particularly “Blue Sky”, but also “X” can see some of these – and the results. Terminations – or being removed with pay or without – were swift – and published.

A federal official said: “This is not fringe anymore. Federal workers, bureaucrats, educators, professors, nurses… people celebrating and cheering the assassination of Charlie Kirk – there is a domestic terrorist movement growing in this country.”

What we know about the accused assassin:

News report text about a suspect in the killing of Charlie Kirk.

His name is Tyler Robinson. He is 26 years old. He lived in an apartment with a roommate nearby his family. The family home was about 3-4 hours away, in Utah. He had received a scholarship to attend a university – he only attended one semester, then continued at a trade school in an electrical program. He was a gamer, using the platform Discord to communicate with others, rather than traditional social media. He has no criminal record.

The gun was recovered with engravings like, “Hey, fascist, CATCH” and the title of an anti-fascist German song. The gun is believed to be an older model with some references on a message site that he was waiting days before for a gun to be dropped off in bushes. He was also seen on his cell phone on the rooftop.

Officials began letting out certain identifying information, enough that they were sure someone knew who the shooter was, and in less than a day a friend of Robinson’s – or his roommate – told his father of his suspicions. Robinson admitted he might have done it and said he would kill himself before turning himself in. At that time the father contacted a minister who was also with local law enforcement – more than likely marshals – and they made a plan to bring him in, which happened late at night on Friday.

Robinson was charged with aggravated murder, a local charge, which indicates Utah intends to seek the death penalty. There are also federal charges expected. He will be presented in court on Tuesday, Sept. 16th, by ZOOM. He is being watched closely out of concerns of him harming himself.

Motive is unclear – reports that he is romantically involved with a man he lived with, who is transgendered, named Lance Twiggs, who is transitioning from male to female. He identified himself as a 22-year-old “wannabe professional gamer”. The roommate is assisting in the continuing investigation.

New evidence showed Robinson had posted on the gaming platform that his Doppelganger committed the murder of Charlie Kirk.

UPDATED: 9-15-2025: Kash Patel: A screwdriver was recovered on the roof. “The DNA hits from the towel and the screwdriver have been positively processed for the suspect in custody” – ATF is doing the DNA on the firearm. FBI decided to release first images to public – to flush out people who would recognize him. Also used cell phone pings from towers, text messages, geo-positioning info, and gamer chat room messages to see others he was communicating with. Family said he subscribed to left wing ideologies moreso in the last few years. There is a written note where Robinson said he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he would do so because he hated him. The note no longer exists, but there are forensics to prove that it existed. Reporter: Is the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit being told to not emphasize the trans issue? Patel denies this will happen. Patel also said he has stepped in to expedite the transference of photos, etc. direct to his office.
