To Do in RI: Last Breath of Summer at Newport’s Secret Garden Tour – Bellevue and Beyond

Secret Garden Tour Thanks June Garden Owners & Volunteers and Announces the Return of the September Tour

The Benefactors of the Arts are pleased to announce that they had another sold-out year at the 2025 June Secret Garden Tour which took place June 27th-29th.  A huge thank you to all the wonderful gardeners who generously opened their gorgeous gardens to the public as well as the many volunteers who greeted guests throughout the weekend.  The funds raised will be used, as they have since 1984, to enhance art education and cultural programs in Aquidneck Island’s Public Schools.

The 2025 September Tour “Bellevue & Beyond” is returning after a five year absence and is scheduled for September 5th-7th.  The tour will be hosted by and will benefit FabNewport.  Step behind the gates of Newport’s most enchanting private gardens during this beloved community event, returning with fresh energy and purpose after a several year hiatus.

This year’s September Tour is a celebration of natural beauty and a youth-led social venture.  Produced by FabNewport in partnership with the Benefactors of the Arts, proceeds support public education and provide paid internships, mentorship, and hands-on learning for Newport County youth in the countywide ecosystem of learning.

Tickets are now available for this tour that include some of the most beautiful, prestigious gardens and properties in historic Newport, RI.  The tour features a number of incredible gardens on and off Bellevue Avenue, including Newport’s picturesque Ocean Drive.  The tours run daily from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.secretgardentours.org for a discounted rate of $40.  Tickets are limited and only 350 tickets will be sold for each day of the September 2025 tour.  If tickets are still available, they may also be purchased online on the day of the tour for $45.

In addition, new volunteers are invited to participate in the September Secret Garden Tour to help contribute to the success of the upcoming event.  To volunteer for one of the 4 hour shifts during the 3 days, please get in touch at [email protected]

Since 1984, the organizers and supporters of The Secret Garden Tour have funded dozens of programs in music, theater and fine arts for local schoolchildren.  To date, the Secret Garden Tour has given more than $1 million to Aquidneck Island public school students for art, music, theater and other cultural programming.  For additional information, be sure to visit the website.
