Gimme’ Shelter: Orbit – waiting at the Providence Animal Control Center

Hello to you! Why am I here? Where did I come from?! I’m told I was abandoned by my person and then a kind person brought me to PAC.

I didn’t do so well outside, I had wounds on the side of my face but, I didn’t want anyone to touch me or rather restrain me for the poking and the prodding. I wasn’t ready for a while. I am already neutered but I did test positive for FIV, is there anything else life can throw at me?! No more please! I am about 6 or so years old, and more would be known about me if I was not left behind 🙁

I am coming around and I am taking care of myself and I was great for my most recent vet exam. I am the complete package and I am ready to go home!

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents.
