THE SPOTTED HAWK

One day, a young girl found a severely injured squirrel and decided to help it. The girl met the squirrel at the same SPOT every day, at the same time, and fed her, watched her get stronger and watched her heal. They became friends. As time passed, a young spotted hawk began hunting the other squirrels who were in the same area close to wounded squirrels feeding spot. One by one they slowly disappeared as the spotted hawk showed up day after day for dinner. While the girl felt sad about the other squirrels, she was happy that her wounded friend had less adversaries as she made her way to her feeding spot daily.

One day while the girl was feeding her wounded friend, another squirrel randomly attacked her – she fell violently down a hill and tumbled and tumbled and tumbled, finally landing on a soft tarp that just happened to have washed ashore that day when the tide came in. As the terrified squirrel limped away to safety, the little girl cried out and asked, “why did you make me see that God? WHY did you allow that to happen??? As she turned around to walk the path back toward her home in tears, the SPOTTED HAWK came out of nowhere and snatched up a squirrel right where her wounded friend had been eating and flew away.

In that moment, the girl understood what God had done and why he allowed her friend to tumble down the hill even providing a tarp for her to land on. He needed to get that squirrel out of danger as he could see what she could not. God was protecting her heart and the squirrel’s life from the spotted hawk. The girl knew all of the pieces fell together in those moments because of God’s hand.  As she walked home, she dwelled on the lesson which had just been taught. We don’t always have to understand God… we just have to trust him. His ways are not our ways.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN”?

I’m sure a lot of you could care less about Justin Bieber… I get that. Truth be told, I don’t care about JUSTIN BIEBER, the artist, at all. To ME, he’s no different than Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, David Cassidy, Donny Osmond, or Rex Smith (remember THAT GUY???!!)… these guys all had their moments in the 1970’s-80’s… made a crap ton of money singing cheesy songs, went on massive tours, were cultural icons in their time, but in the end… slowly disappeared as the teeny boppers grew up and had no use for the brand or music any longer.

Bieber really did have it all and it still didn’t satisfy him which is generally what happens OVER AND OVER and over again with SUPER STARS. Ironically King Solomon told us about this very THING, in the BIBLE of all places, if you can believe it. YEP… he used the phrase ‘VANITY OF ALL VANITIES” to describe his experience with wealth, power, and pleasure (the guy HAD IT ALL FOR those of you that don’t know) suggesting that these things ULTIMATELY FAIL to provide “lasting satisfaction” and that only GOD can fill the void we seek to fill in our lives.

Like Prince, MJ, WHITNEY and George Michael, we are watching BIEBER die right IN FRONT OF US, and like the others, no one is doing anything to stop the same script from ending the same way with the death of another super star. Bieber has openly talked about his drug and alcohol use and fully admits he has struggled with that in the past and it seems to me (though I’m no expert) he has really changed recently, and not for the better. Over the last year it seems as though he’s gotten worse for the wear and while his management team says “he’s not on drugs” BIEBER is posting cryptic messages on the socials as well as videos of himself smoking bongs and joints while rapping or posing or just being high.

A lot of you smoke weed and that’s fine, but someone who struggles with substances cannot put ANY of that crap into their body at all – ever. It screws up YOUR THINKING, the MIND in general, a person’s perceptions, and the reality of things AS THEY ARE.

Where is his mother? His father? His wife? A few days ago, Bieber posted things online about having all kinds of hate inside of him and how he feels like an “IMPOSTER” in his own life.

I’m just saying, for the record, this is a bad situation. Bieber looks like he’s sick, he sounds like he’s sick and he’s acting like he’s sick. I don’t care about the artist Justin Bieber, but I care about the addicted and struggling Justin Bieber and I pray someone intervenes and gets him the help he needs before he takes his own life, overdoses, or gets into some awful accident. We act like we care about the sick and struggling among us because its trendy and politically correct to do so… but do we really? I don’t think we do. But hey, what do I know…
