ART! For Lent… at Grace Church & RISD Museum
This week marked the start of Lent. Conversation turned naturally to what are we giving up – and some of us even put off Valentine’s Day until this weekend.
As the season unveils, and thoughts turn to spring and even Easter, Grace Episcopal Church in Providence and the RISD Museum have gotten together for a special event honoring sacred works of art that Rhode Island is fortunate enough to have right here.
They are also offering a unique arts event with artist Gwyneth Leech on Stations of the Cross on Saturday, February 17th, from 10:30am to noon:

___
On Thursday, February 29th at 6pm – Parishioner and RISD Professor and Artist Andrew Raftery will lead attendees through the exploration of four sacred works of art, ranging from the 13th to the 20th centuries, in the RISD Museum’s collection.
Meet Andrew at the Benefit Street entrance to the museum (corner of Benefit and Waterman) by 6 PM. There is a coffee shop there which is a good meeting spot. Parking suggestions: There is a parking lot on Steeple Street by New Rivers, but there should be parking on Benefit by Atheneum Row and on College between North Main and Benefit Streets.
