Rhode Island Weekend Weather, July 29/30, 2023 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 7/29/23:
Another warm and humid day, but we will get some relief after a cold front washes away a great deal of the humidity after triggering some showers and thunderstorms from late morning onward to the evening. Morning lows in the low 70’s rise under increasing cloud cover to the upper 80’s with a light southwesterly breeze shifting to westerly by evening.
It’s a “C” day!
Sunday 7/30/23:

Rain ends during the pre-dawn hours and dew points begin to drop through the 60’s after the cold frontal passage. Light northerly winds help the drying process and reduce the low level haze as well, so blue skies dotted with scattered fair weather cumulus clouds. A low around 65 rises to afternoon highs in the upper 70’s.
It’s an “A” day!

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena.
